California to soon lift mask mandate for children, experts calls it premature move

In the United States, in California, the mask mandates are going to ease up for the young ones in the educational institution and the child care facilities.

As per the experts, the lifting up of the regulations that were made for the protection and safety of the people against the COVID-19 infection. And this action is premature, as the children are not yet prepared for this sudden move.

Along with this, the toddlers, as well as preschoolers, will be able to face a significant change in their lives after the coming Friday when the mask mandates will end for the small ones at 12.

The cases of the COVID-19 infection is showing a downfall trend, and the number of people getting admitted to the health care centers has also decreased. The health officials have mentioned that it is still a worry situation for all individuals, and it could be a huge risk for the children after the removal of the mask mandates in the state.

Moreover, the educational institution will no longer be able to send a child home if he is not covering his face with a face mask.

The public health officer of the state and the director of the California Department of Public Health named Dr Tomás Aragón mentioned, “The wisest thing to do is go from a requirement to strongly recommending (masks) and recognizing that there may be some places where they want to continue masking, and that is okay. We are leaving it up to the county, district or schools.”

However, Aragón said that lifting up the restriction of facial masks will help the families and the schools prepare for more time to make themselves ready for the change.

The clinical professor emeritus of infectious diseases and vaccinology at the UC Berkeley School of Public Health, John Swartzberg, mentioned, “The message the public has heard is, ‘Masks are not necessary. The state is leaving the decision to the parent or the adult. That’s fine, but now the parents are struggling with the decision.”
