The prime minister of Moldova has made an appeal to the authorities of the United States to enlarge its humanitarian assistance to the nation, as the number of refugees is rising on a rapid basis. Currently, it has been reached 120,000.

She mentioned, “As of this morning, we had over 230,000 individuals who have crossed the border from Ukraine, as well as 1,20,000, remained in Moldova – 96,000 of them are Ukrainian residents. For a small nation like Moldova, proportionately, this is a huge number.”

She further added, “Everybody has come together to host, to provide shelter, to provide food, to assist those who are fleeing war. But we will be required assistance to deal with this influx, and we need this quickly.”

As per the United Nations, on Sunday, March 6, the maximum number of individuals who have been arrived in Moldova was 103,254.

Along with this, Blinken said to Moldova that they “Can count on us across the board” for the support they require.

“We admire the quality of being kind and generous, the hospitality, the willingness to be such good friends to individuals who are in extreme anxiety. And indeed, we want to do everything we can to support you deal with the burden this is imposing.”
