US: Gov Murphy decides to lift mask mandate for schools & child care facilities from March 7

In the United States, as the cases of the COVID-19 infection is decreasing gradually, the mask mandates have to lift up from March 7. However, there is some educational institution that is still needed face covers for protection and safety.

After two years (for the first time in 18 months), since the pandemic has started, the update of easing up the regulations has made the people feel safe about the current situation as the COVID-19 infection is slowly coming to an end.

Along with this, the schools are not permitted to ban the masks completely, but they can decide to make it essential for the people to require them or select the “Mask optional.”

According to the details shared by the sources, there are 25 of the most significant district schools in the entire state with a different regulations.

The majority of the educational institutions have planned to make the facial masks optional instead of putting a full stop to it, and some more suburban districts, including Hillside South Orange-Maplewood, will still need the masks.

25. Bridgewater Raritan — Masks optional

The district constantly uses masks until the nation is at the “Green level”, indicating a low transmission rate.

21. East Orange — Masks required.

The district will require the masks until April 14, before
mask guidelines. School officials said the decision was made based on community survey results.

20. Middletown — Masks optional

19. New Brunswick — Masks required. All students, staff, and visitors need to remain masked while indoors. The policy will be revisited after spring break.

18. West Windsor-Plainsboro — Masking will be decided weekly based. For the week of March 7, masks are optional for students and staff in grades 6-12 buildings. Face covers are needed for children and staff in pre-K-grade five facilities.

16. Bayonne — Masks optional.

15. Freehold Regional — Masks optional

14. Clifton — Masks optional

4. Paterson — Masks required. The board of education delayed its decision to make masks optional until the next meeting on March 9.

1. Newark — Masks required. “The usage of masks is part of the district’s protocols, and we are maintaining our protocols,” said Newark schools spokeswoman Nancy Deering.
