Alaska man arrested for threatening to kill two state senators in a voicemail message

A man from Alaska has been under arrest as he has threatened to kill two of the state’s senators of the United States of America in a voicemail message. He was apprehended on Friday, March 8, for 32 months behind bars.

The District Judge named Ralph R. Beistline from the United States has sentenced the man named Jay Allen Johnson, 65-year-old after he has bee pleaded guilty at the beginning of this year to the federal charges of killing threat or have an assassin murder GOP Sens. Lisa Murkowski and Dan Sullivan of Alaska, according to the Justice Department.

In the agreement, it has been mentioned that Johnson will be stopped from having any contact with the senators as well as their families or the staff for three years after he has been released from the prison. He also will forfeit seven guns that have been grabbed from his home.

Additionally, Johnson was fined $5,000 on Friday, March 8, the Justice Department mentioned in the statement.

Moreover, Johnson has left the threatening voicemails for the senators over a five-month period as well as she stated that the messages were aimed at fighting back against them “for performing their official duties,” prosecutors mentioned in court documents.

Furthermore, he mentioned in one message, as per the court documents, “I will find out everything, where you’re at. I will discover out all your properties, & I will burn everything you hope to have, and I will burn everything you hope to own.”

Assistant U.S. Attorney Ryan Tansey noted in a sentencing memo at the beginning of this month, “The defendant’s conduct is simply unacceptable in a democracy. Our system allows citizens to resolve political and legal conflicts through political and legal means. As political violence and domestic extremism grow, violent intimidation of public officials must result in serious criminal consequences.”
