Chicago mother of teen killed in “Bean” shooting incident; criticizes curfew ordinances

United States: In Chicago, after the Bean shooting, the mayor Lori Lightfoot changed the curfews following a chaotic weekend downtown.

As per the officials, currently, the weekend curfew in Chicago for the minors will be an hour earlier. It has been moved up to 10 p.m.

In Millennium Park, unaccompanied minors will not be allowed after 6 p.m. Thursday through Sunday.

Moreover, the decision that took place by Lightfoot was the result of a 16-year-old who was shot and killed in a crowd of young people his age near “the Bean” at Millennium Park this weekend.

Chanell Holliday described her son, Seandell, as a bright young man with tremendous dreams.

He was a gifted electronics student at Gary Comer College Prep on Chicago’s South Side.

Along with this, his mother stated she had discovered her son’s handwritten list of ten goals he wished to achieve.

She mentioned in the statement, “He wants to live to 21. I told him not to go. I said you’re not going downtown.”

Marion Richardson, 17, was detained as he fled the scene at 7:30 p.m. Saturday night, according to prosecutors, and he is being prosecuted as an adult.

Richardson was arguing with a female from another group when the victim, Seandell Holliday, attacked him from behind and hit him in the head, according to prosecutors.

Richardson then pulled out a revolver and shot the youngster in the chest as per to authorities.

The weapon used in the shooting was seized, according to Chicago police.

Furthermore, Richardson is currently being detained on a cash bond of $250,000.
