Washington: In yet another tragic occurrence, a shooting early on Saturday morning in the Renton neighbourhood of Seattle left one person dead and five others injured, according to authorities. Just before 1 a.m. local time, according to Renton police spokesperson Sandra Havlik, police responded to gunfire in the city’s centre.

When the police arrived, they discovered several victims. According to Havlik, emergency responders attended to other people at the site while treating the deceased. According to early accounts, the shooting resulted from an altercation outside of a sizable gathering, which may have included more than one individual, according to authority.

According to Havlik, the shooting was still under investigation Saturday morning. A 12-mile drive southeast of Seattle’s city centre is the city of Renton, which has a population of roughly 106,000. According to the Gun Violence Archive, there were 302 mass shootings in the US this year.

President Joe Biden stated that the US needed to prohibit assault rifles in order to safeguard children and families or raise the purchasing age from 18 to 21 in light of the rising number of gun violence occurrences in the country.

US senators finally agreed upon a bipartisan gun safety package on June 22 in the wake of recent mass shootings in Uvalde, Buffalo, and Texas that shocked the nation. The new legislation intends to deny weapons to dangerous individuals and add billions of dollars in additional financing for mental health services.

The plan offers states more extraordinary tools to take weapons away from dangerous people, but it would not ban assault-style rifles or dramatically increase background checks for gun transactions.

In the most recent events, a shooting occurred on Saturday in Haltom City, Texas, leaving two people dead and four wounded, including three police officers. According to the police, one woman was discovered dead inside the house, and a guy was found shot dead on the driveway.
