3 children tested positive for Monkeypox in Georgia

United States: Monkeypox virus has now been found in three youngsters in Georgia, as per the recently updated official statistics.

The Georgia Department of Health shared the comment about these incidents, but they did not answer right away.

At least one kid at Mansfield Elementary in Mansfield, Georgia, has tested positive for the virus, and another youngster at Flint Hill Elementary in Oxford, Georgia, is presently undergoing testing, according to the Newton County School System, which resumed classes in early August.

If these incidents have any connection at all is unknown. The distance between the schools is around 13 miles. Due to privacy concerns, more information on how the pupils may have acquired or been exposed to the virus is not yet accessible, according to school authorities.

Parents of kids identified to be close contacts will get separate messages outlining the next steps after the school system has contacted them.

“NCSS facilities employees will clean as well as disinfect classrooms and other areas at both educational institutions this afternoon to ensure ongoing safe and healthy learning as well as work environments for students and staff. Both academies will be open tomorrow,” the school district mentioned in the statement.

According to state statistics, the first dosage of the monkeypox vaccination has been administered to at least 15 youngsters in Georgia who are 17 years old or less.

Separately, authorities in Texas declared that a monkeypox case that had previously been verified had really been a false positive.

At least 13 kids have already tested positive for monkeypox nationwide. There have been pediatric monkeypox cases documented in nine states and jurisdictions.
