Georgia murder suspect apprehends at traffic check after 28 years on the run

United States: A man on the run for nearly three decades in connection with a 1994 murder in Georgia just outside Atlanta was apprehended on Tuesday at the time of a traffic stop.

According to the sources, in Oconee County, Muhammed Bilal El-Amin was taken into custody for driving a Mazda with a suspended license, having no insurance and having suspended car registration. The deputies were performing random registration checks when he was caught.

He was wanted for November 27, 1994, shooting of 18-year-old Jafferd Tucker, who was shot in the face at a transit station. A federal warrant was issued charging him with an unlawful flight to avoid prosecution in May 2001.

Before he was taken into custody, El-Amin, who was wanted by the FBI, handed deputies a South Carolina driver’s license with the name Rais Sekhem, which came back as having been suspended. He allegedly shared the information with the deputies that he was unsure why his license was suspended.

Along with this, that officer called for backup as well as took him into custody.

He was fingerprinted, and his real identity was discovered after he was in a nearby jail.

Furthermore, according to a social media post by the sheriff’s office, “His fingerprints came back to a different name than was what was indicated on his driver’s license.”
