1 dead, 9 missing over plane crash in Washington

United States: One person was killed, and rescue crews were looking for the other nine after a small plane collided along the coast of the United States of Washington on Sunday, according to the coast guard. 

According to the Coast Guard, it received word of the incident at 3:11 pm (2211 GMT) and immediately sent out boats and aircraft to search the area. Officials from the local search as well as rescue agency were also there.

“One deceased person was found by the responding crews. A safety zone has been established to aid with search operations, and nine people are still missing. “The reason for the disaster has not yet been ascertained, the coast guard added in a statement.

On its route to Renton Municipal Airport, which is close to Seattle, the plane crashed while flying over the Puget Sound entrance of the Pacific Ocean.

The 55-year-old de Havilland Canada DHC-3 Otter single-engine propeller was last seen in the region at 3:08 pm local time, flying at the height of 100 feet (30.5 metres), according to the flight tracking website Flight Radar 24.

According to a statement shared on a tweet from the Coast Guard’s Pacific Northwest region, eight people and one kid were on board. They were looking for ten passengers, according to a later tweet.
