United States: A 17-year-old suspect has been identified in the deaths of about two teenagers who were discovered shot over the weekend, a North Carolina sheriff announced on Tuesday.
A child petition has been filed against a 17-year-old for two counts of first-degree murder in the deaths of Devin Clark-18-year-old, as well as Lyric Woods-14-years-old, Orange County Sheriff Charles Blackwood, as per the sources.
According to the information, Blackwood did not release the name of the suspect, who was not in custody as of Wednesday.
Along with this, Blackwood mentioned in the statement, “We are not resting until he is in our custody in Orange County. Until then, our heads are down and working toward that end.”
Woods and Clark were reported missing over the weekend as well as were discovered dead outside Hillsborough on Sunday in the afternoon, says the reports.
The station reported that a homicide investigation was opened after ATV riders in western Orange County discovered the bodies of Woods and Clark on Sunday afternoon.
Moreover, the investigators are waiting for the State Medical Examiner’s Office to officially confirm their identities as well as their cause of death, as per Blackwood.
On Tuesday, family and friends visited the site where the two teenagers were found dead, as well as a friend of Clark’s family who drove in from Caswell County- Whitney Oliver.
Oliver stated, “It won’t bring them back.”
