Texas teen detained in homicide investigation after woman’s body found during Nebraska car chase

United States: A 17-year-old has been detained in a homicide investigation in Texas after the authorities mentioned that he led troopers in Nebraska on a high-speed chase with a woman’s body in the car, as per the authorities.

The Harris County Sheriff’s Office identified the young one as Tyler Roenz. The person who was discovered dead in the trunk has not been identified.

Additionally, Tyler Roenz and his mother, Michelle Roenz, 49-year-old, were reported missing on Thursday night, as per the sheriff’s office, which patrols the Houston area. The Officials mentioned that both were last observed at their residence in Humble, Texas, late Thursday morning.

The authorities did not share any additional information about the woman on Friday.

On Friday, in the afternoon, the Harris County Sheriff’s office alerted Nebraska State Police that a vehicle connected to the Roenz family was in Nebraska, as per the state authorities.

Along with this, the troopers discovered the sedan in traffic as well as gave chase, with speeds of 110 mph observed on Interstate 80 near Grand Island, as per the statement.

Moreover, about 9 miles west, the sedan hit a big rig as well as then a tree before coming to a stop, Nebraska State Police highlighted.

The 17-year-old had severe but non-life-threatening injuries and was admitted to the hospital and apprehended, as per the agency.

In addition, Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez described the teen’s condition as “serious.”

Nebraska State Police mentioned that troopers were told by Harris County authorities that the sedan was “believed to be involved in a homicide,” as per the state police statement.

Gonzalez shared the tweet on Friday that his homicide investigators were working on the case as well as coordinating with local authorities.
