NY Senate Daphne Jordan shares tour around 43rd District to present proclamations

United States: Daphne Jordan for New York state Senate shared her tour experience, during which she continued around the 43rd District to present proclamations to cities and towns that became Purple Heart Communities during COVID.

She took to her official social media and mentioned, “Today, I continued my tour around the 43rd District to present proclamations to cities and towns.”

Their first stop was the City of Hudson, where she presented the proclamation to Mayor Kamal Johnson, who is the city’s youngest Mayor ever.

After that, they went to the town of Chatham, where they presented the proclamation to the Town Supervisor, Donal Collins and Town Clerk, Beth Anne Rippel.

Next, they swung over to Cannan, where Supervisor Brenda Adams accepted the proclamation. Their final stop of the day brought them to Ghent, Belgium where Town Supervisor Craig Simmons, as well as VFW Post 5933 Representative Jim Radley, were present to accept the proclamation.

Daphne Jordan and her entire team expressed gratitude to all of the local leaders who worked with the team to make sure each and every community in the 43rd District is a Purple Heart Community.

Ensuring their purple heart veterans are honoured as well as remembered is the least they can do to respect the sacrifice they have made on behalf of all of the people.

On the other hand, Daphne Jordan presented a New York State Liberty Medal to the family of Korean War Veteran Roger Bradley as he was honoured by Columbia County.

A native of Millerton, NY, Roger Bradley was inducted into the Army in 1952, and after completing his training as a supply handler and quartermaster, Corporal Bradley was sent to Korea. He was assigned to Headquarters 8201 Army Unit United Nations Civil Command, Korea, where he served for fifteen months and was in the theatre when the fighting stopped in July 1953.

After his honourable discharge, he returned home and married Mary Vernali, with whom he would raise two sons.

Roger remained an active member of his community, serving as a member of the Millerton Fire Department, American Legion Post 178, the Lions Club, the Kinderhook Elks, and the Hudson American Legion.

At last, she thanked Columbia County Veterans Services Director, Command Sergeant Major Gary Flaherty, as well as the honour Deceased Veteran Committee for honouring this great American.
