Weather: Carolinas to witness sunny and cold on Dec 28

United States: The Former Charlotte Observer writer Steve Lyttle shared the update on the weather of Carolinas, the Governor of North Carolina, Roy Cooper, shared a Tweet yesterday that he wants answers from Duke Energy related to the Christmas Eve power blackouts all over the state.

He took to his official social media and mentioned in the statement, “I would be remiss if I didn’t mention, at the outset, that N.C. Gov. Roy Cooper tweeted yesterday that he wants answers from Duke Energy regarding the Christmas Eve power blackouts across the state. We’ve all commented on what happened, and I think there’s general agreement that communications were horrendous, and the whole operation was handled with zero transparency. We’ll see if anything comes of this.”

Moving on further, the warm is underway. People had a tiny bit of excitement overnight as a weak low-pressure system crossed the Carolinas. It was snowing over a big chunk of the western Carolinas overnight, but the person had to be at 7,000 feet altitude to know it. It is very dry air near the surface that caused the light snow to evaporate, save for a few flurries that managed to make it to the ground. 

 TODAY: Sunny and cold, but not as cold as in recent days. High around 45.

TONIGHT: Clear and cold, with a low near 25.

WEDNESDAY: Sunny and milder, with a high of 53.

WEDNESDAY NIGHT: Clear, with a low of around 30.

THURSDAY: Sunny and a bit milder again, with a high of 57.

THURSDAY NIGHT: For the first time in a week, we don’t drop below freezing. Partly cloudy, with a low of 34.

FRIDAY: Sunshine in the morning, then a mix of sun and clouds in the afternoon. Quite mild for late December, with a high near 60.

SATURDAY: We finish 2022 on a wet note. It will be overcast, with a shower from time to time. The rain should end by 7 or 8 p.m., though, so New Years’ Eve revellers will get a break. Our daytime high will be near 60.

NEW YEARS DAY: We start 2023 on a mild note. A mix of sun and clouds and quite warm, with a high around 65.

MONDAY: Sunshine, a few clouds, and mild. High of 64.
