Choksi bribed investigating officer Adonis Henry to hatch conspiracy: Rijock

US: Recently, acclaimed American financial crime consultant and investigator Kenneth Rijock and the lawyer of fugitive Mehul Choksi, Rohan Garg, were involved in a heated exchange of words over a news report. Rijock had written an article in which he alleged that Choksi had been attempting to flee Cuba to evade extradition court proceedings in Antigua and is bribing officials in Antigua to put his plot in place.

Garg, Choksi’s lawyer, threatened the independent investigator for legal actions against him for revealing conspiracies of Mehul Choksi of bribing officials including police official Adonis Henry and Magistrate Conliffe Clark. Rijock added that Choksi was dropped off on the coast of Dominica after he failed to pay the crew of a vessel that was taking him to Cuba, forcing him to pay bribes to Dominican officials to dismiss illegal entry charges in the small island country.

Rijock revealed that multiple witnesses reported that Choksi and his missing case investigating officer Adonis Henry have been meeting regularly at least three times in the past at Al Porto restaurant, reportedly owned by Mehul Choksi. Allegedly, Magistrate Conliffe Clarke and Adonis Henry have conspired together to interfere with Interpol’s efforts to detain and extradite Choksi back to India.

Choksi was supposed to be extradited to his home country of India, where he is accused of stealing the equivalent of millions of dollars, but unscrupulous government officials, judges, and law enforcement officers in Antigua were able to prolong the process, but only after receiving hefty bribes. Due to deceptive consumer business tactics and significant bank fraud, Choksi became a billionaire. Despite an active Interpol Red Notice calling for his arrest, he has evaded Indian law for years by obtaining a Citizenship by Investment (CIP/CBI) passport in Antigua, added Rijock.

Rijock refused to back down and stood by his report. He said that he had received information from reliable sources and that he had done his due diligence before publishing the article. He added that he is eminently familiar with the law on defamation, libel and slander. He also said that India’s law enforcement agencies must investigate the lawyers of Mehul Choksi, who are openly threatening journalists and others for exposing the conspiracies of the Indian fraudster.

Earlier, Rijock had exposed Mehul Choksi and his friends’ efforts to bribe officials in Antigua to hatch the conspiracy of his fabricated abduction and cover his escape plan to Cuba.
