Indian diaspora living overseas is brand ambassador of India: PM Modi

India: The Pravasi Bhartiya Divas, celebrated by the government of India, in Indore, Madhya Pradesh. The convention was for three days and was an event to honour the Indian Diaspora living across different nations of the world.

The Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi addressed the convention on January 9, 2023. In his address, the Prime Minister called the Indian Diaspora the brand Ambassador of India.

The people from India living abroad or known as Pravasi Bharatiyas, have been called by the Prime Minister to share the success stories of India with the rest of the world. Moreover, he has urged them to increase diaspora engagement. According to the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, the Indian Diaspora should be involved in the growth of the nation.

During the Pravasi Bhartiya conference, the Prime Minister of India attended a diaspora connect event. Union Minister of the State for culture and foreign affairs, Meenakshi Lekhi, presided over the ceremony.

Union Minister of State for External Affairs mentioned that she felt connected as well as at home at the Diaspora connect event.

The event encouraged knowledgeable, valuable as well as wide-ranging discussions on the role of the Diaspora. It was a perfect platform for the Pravasi Bharatiyas to become fully aware of their contribution towards the socio-economic development of India, their homeland.

Along with this, the Overseas Indian Community (OIC) extended gratitude to the Prime Minister of India, Dr Narendra Modi, for creating several initiatives to reconnect them to the place they belong from.
