Dominica: Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit, under his administration, is making every possible move to make the infrastructure in the country more durable and long-lasting. Today Prime Minister Skerrit shared a video of the reconstruction of Layou Road.
While sharing the video on his social media handles, he highlighted the road resurfacing work to be completed in a short time. The work of resurfacing is still in progress. This will make the roads and similar infrastructure more appropriately strong to come in direct contact with heavy rains, climate changes and natural disasters.
While sharing this video of road reconstruction, Prime Minister Skerrit updated, “Layou Road Reconstruction Project – Road Resurfacing Works February 23, 2023.”
Prime Minister of Dominica, Dr Roosevelt Skerrit, led the Government and is mostly concerned with maintaining the strong infrastructure on the island, this somehow brings a feeling of safety among the people of Dominica, even in an extreme situations like hurricanes and heavy rainfall.
Many Dominicans appreciated the work that the Government was doing, and they also commented on the post that Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit uploaded. One of the users commented on the post that the reconstruction of this road is commendable because the island is also one of the famous tourist destinations in the Caribbean and the Americas, so much beautiful infrastructure would welcome more and more people to the island. He added that this construction would also increase mobility from the rural areas, and the farmers in those areas will get help from this reconstruction as this enables farmers to earn their daily living.
Ronald Charles, one of the netizens, commented, “It is also a good touristy, scenic route. I anticipate to the continuation of that road from the York Valley Bridge (Glo sho bridge) to the Sultan/Warner junction. Congratulations, and a way to go, PM.”
The Government of Dominica also noted that this Layou Road Project would cost over eleven million dollars. This road reconstruction was one of the parts of the Layou Rehabilitation and Reconstruction Project.
