The African Export-Import Bank – Afreximbank had a meeting with the Prime Minister of the Commonwealth of Dominica, Dr Roosevelt Skerrit, this week. This meeting was scheduled during the forty-fourth Regular Meeting of Heads of Government of the CARICOM Community.
The Bank updated the information regarding the meeting and added that along with Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit, other Caribbean leaders were also present. Philip J Pierre – Prime Minister of Saint Lucia, Gaston Browne – Prime Minister of Antigua and Barbuda and Dr Terrance Michael Drew – Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis, were also present in the meeting.
While updating about the meeting ministry updated a post which added that during the forty-fourth Regular Meeting of Heads of Government of CARICOM, the head of government of the Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States had a meeting with the Afreximbank for further development in the Region. Afreximbank, the Africa-Caribbean Bank, also updated the information regarding this meeting.
This meeting between the authorities of the banks and the ministers of government focused on the various methods for further enhancing the countries’ finances. While adding Bank stated, “Prof Oramah introduced the Bank and some of its facilities and discussed various ways the Bank can support the OECS countries.”
Executive Vice President intra-African Trade Bank, Kanayo Awani, attended the meeting along with other team members of Afreximbank.
Dr Jules Didacus, the Director General of the Eastern Caribbean States Organization, had meetings with the team that was from the Afreximbank Delegation.
Afreximbank President Prof Benedict Oramah and Executive Vice-President Kanayo Awani received Dr Didacus.
African Export–Import Bank, also known as a pan-African multilateral trade finance institution, was set up in 1993 under the auspices of the African Development Bank.
