The Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife invites the general public to observe some wildlife that cannot venture out of the house on Wednesday, 22 February 2023.

Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife consistently makes remarkable strides towards preserving, protecting, and perpetuating fish, wildlife, and ecosystems while providing sustainable opportunities.

They mentioned numerous activities for visitors to indulge in winter elk feeding that occurs daily from December to February at the Oak Creek L.T. Murray and Wenas wildlife areas in south-central Washington or taking a feeding tour to check out the visitor’s centre, which has several exhibits of the video program and a kid’s corner.

The exhibitions, like the truck tour, are free. On the other hand, Bighorn sheep, woodpeckers, raptors, and a variety of songbirds seen in that area, Kim, are on a carefully managed supplemental feeding program that only takes place in winter months for certain wildlife populations.

The feeding program facilitates preserving elk and bighorn sheep off adjoining private property and croplands where they may come in contact with diseases from domestic animals that can cause crop damage. In addition to immense fencing that helps keep the elk out of orchards, ranches, and homes traditionally for winter elk range. This conventional feeding program offers the public the chance to view wildlife as a side benefit.

Meanwhile, they gave an overview of preparing for the visit on their official Facebook account. They stated, “To prep for your visit, be sure to have your Discover Pass, warm clothes, binoculars, snacks, or a lunch paired nicely with a warm beverage. It’s always encouraged to call before your visit to check for daily updates” they further added, “The address for this site is 16601 Highway 12, Naches, WA 98937.
