Nhung Truong robbed and slammed, assumes to spend life in wheelchair

Texas: A 44-year-old Nhung Truong, a single mother and Texas woman, is assumed to spend the rest of her in a wheelchair after being robbed and slammed to the ground in a brutal attack.

According to Police and reports, the amount robbed during the attack was thousands of dollars, and the incident was caught on camera last month.

The Houston police and the relatives of Nhung Truong issued a statement on 13 February noting, “Truong was assaulted by a man after withdrawing a large amount of cash from a bank and was unable to use one of her legs after the incident.”

In addition, Truong was followed to a shopping centre 24 miles and 39km from the bank and was approached and tried to steal the money forcefully by her.

The Police also provided further information regarding the attack and remarked that she dropped some personal items and struggled with the man during the attack.

Furthermore, the footage shared by the Houston Police shows that the thief ran off with the money, took one item, quickly returned, lifted Truong off to the ground, and slammed her ruthlessly into the pavement.

The Police confirmed that the robber originally stole the wrong item. The family of Truong said that $4,300 was stolen and her spinal cord was damaged in the attack, and now she cannot use her left leg.

Additionally, her daughter expressed grief and said that the big loss is not the money; the big loss is she losing her leg.

As per the sources, Truong was a single mother of three children and came to the US from Vietnam to live a normal livelihood. She had already lived a tough life and lost her husband, who had liver cancer seven years ago.

Doctors also reported that she needs constant care and help to go to the bathroom, and there is only a 50% chance Truong will be able to walk again. The doctors also conveyed to the family and relatives of the victim that only a miracle could make her walk again.

According to a GoFundMe page, the bank collected money for the Vietnam family trip. However, now the Nhung Truong family is pleading for financial assistance for her care and everyday expenses, and still ‘no arrest has been made in the case’.
