Grenada: According to reports, Justin Sun, the founder of TRON, no longer holds his diplomatic status. The party that had given him this status was removed from power in June 2022.
No one from Grenada’s foreign affairs office or government information services has replied to questions regarding Sun’s current diplomatic status.
However, Sun himself has acknowledged that his time as Grenada’s ambassador has come to an end as of March 31, 2023. Despite this, he is still using the title “H.E.” on his personal Twitter account at the time of writing this article.
The reports have sparked renewed interest, especially since Sun and his companies, Rainberry, BitTorrent Foundation, and Tron Foundation, were accused of conspiring to distribute billions of Tronix [TRX] and BitTorrent [BTT] cryptocurrency assets and inflate trading volume since August 2017.
The lawsuit also raised concerns about Huobi, the exchange led by Sun, and its expansion plans. Despite this, the TRON founder remains confident, saying that the U.S. civil fraud allegations will not affect Huobi’s commercial plans in Hong Kong.
Despite the difficulties, the cryptocurrency exchange supported by Sun has entered into a significant partnership.
According to a press release issued on March 31, a trading platform based in Seychelles has announced a strategic partnership with a blockchain-based gaming platform called Gala Games. Both companies will collaborate to invest in and list the best initiatives within the Gala ecosystem. They will also work together to promote ecosystem growth, create projects, and build a community, as stated in the blog.
Despite this partnership, the TRON founder, who owns a majority stake in Huobi, has recently praised Hong Kong for its growing interest in cryptocurrency development, calling it “one of the experiment zones for crypto development in China.” In addition to this Chinese-controlled territory, Huobi’s other key areas of operation are Malaysia and the Caribbean.
