St Kitts and Nevis: Tourism Ministry launches Cruise schedule, May 2023

Basseterre, St Kitts and Nevis: The Tourism Ministry of St. Kitts and Nevis has announced the official schedule for cruise ships visiting in May 2023. These ships will be docking at Port Zante, located in Basseterre’s cruise port. 

According to the social media post by St Kitts and Nevis Times, five cruise ships are expected to arrive at the twin-island Federation, but the schedule may change due to unforeseen circumstances.

In May 2023, several cruise ships will be arriving in St Kitts and Nevis, bringing numerous tourists from around the globe. Here is the list of expected vessels to arrive and explore the specialities of the twin island federation-

  1. Monday 1st May- Celebrity Equinox
  2. Wednesday, 3rd May- Borealis
  3. Saturday 6th May- Disney Magic
  4. Tuesday 9th May- Adventure of the seas
  5. Wednesday 31st May- Harmony of the seas

Every cruise has its own unique features that make it special and memorable for tourists. These luxurious ships are known for their size and impressive amenities, which ensure that passengers have an unforgettable experience.

Following are the details of the Cruise ships expected to arrive in St Kitts and Nevis- 

Celebrity Equinox: The Celebrity Equinox is a cruise ship built in Germany and entered service on June 6, 2009. It is one of five Solstice-class vessels owned and operated by Celebrity Cruises, and was recently refurbished in 2019.

The ship, with a capacity to carry 2,850 passengers and operated by 1,250 crew members, is expected to arrive at the twin-island federation today. The crew is dedicated to fulfilling every need of their passengers on board and providing them with an unforgettable experience.

MS Borealis: Launched on December 21, 1996, this vessel can carry 1404 individuals in a single run and be operated by 600 crew members. Fincantieri, an Italian shipbuilding company, manufactured it. According to the schedule, the vessel will arrive at Basseterre on May 3, 2023.

Disney Magic: Disney Magic is a cruise ship that belongs to Disney Cruise Line, a subsidiary of The Walt Disney Company. It has 11 public decks and 875 staterooms and can accommodate up to 2,700 passengers.

The ship is decorated in the Art Deco style and has a crew of around 950. Disney Cruise Line also operates four other ships: Disney Wonder, Disney Dream, Disney Fantasy, and Disney Wish. As per the Schedule, the vessel is set to arrive in St Kitts and Nevis on Saturday, May 6, 2023. 

Adventure of the Seas: Owned and manufactured by Royal Caribbean International, this ship is counted among the list of one of the largest active cruise ships. This voyager class cruise ship entered service in 2001. There are five voyager-class cruise ships: Adventure of the Seas, Explorer of the Seas, Adventure of the Seas, Navigator of the Seas and Mariner of the Seas.

The vessel is 311 meters (1,020 ft 4 in) long with a height of 63 meters (206 ft 8 inches) with a capacity of carrying 3602 passengers in one run, and the capability can be extended to 4000. It was last refurbished in 2014 and has 14 decks. This giant Cruise ship will arrive in St Kitts and Nevis on May 9, 2023. 

Harmony of the Seas: The last Cruise ship in the Cruise visiting schedule of St Kitts and Nevis. The Oasis-class cruise ship is scheduled to arrive on May 31, 2023. Royal Caribbean International is the manufacturer and owner of the vessel. It was launched on June 19, 2015, and took US$1.35 billion to construct.

Harmony of the seas

The Oasis-class ships have the most prominent and extended cruise industry vessels. The ocean’s third largest cruise ship, Harmony of the Seas, weighs a massive 227,000 tonnes and measures 361 metres in length, which is equivalent to four football pitches.

It has the enormous capacity of carrying 5,479 in a single run operated by 2,100 crew members. Currently, there are five Oasis-class cruise ships in service; Harmony of the Seas, Allure of the Seas, Symphony of the Seas, Wonder, and Oasis of the Seas.

On April 5, 2022The Royal Caribbean officially announced that their sixth Oasis-class Cruise ship will be scheduled to be launched in May 2024. It is going to be the first LNG-powered ship. The sixth Oasis-class Cruise will be the world’s largest and most luxurious cruise ship.
