Haiti: Nérilia Mondésir’s match-winning goal named among best goals in Women’s Gold Cup Qualification

Nérilia Mondésir’s game-winner for Haiti in their 1-nil win over Costa Rica was named among the best goals in the Women’s Gold Cup Qualification. On September 21, 2023, she scored a game-winner goal for Haiti vs. Costa Rica in the Women’s Gold Cup Qualification match.

Roselord Borgella, the midfielder, delivered the assist to Nérilia Mondésir. Later, she completed a remarkable finish kicking the ball into Costa Rican nets.

Following a double and sumptuous combination between Roselord Borgella’s repositioned midfield and Nérilia Mondésir, the captain scored a precious goal (69’) and offered a significant victory (1-0) to Haiti at the expense of Costa Rica.

On Thursday, September 21, 2023, at the Felix Sanchez Olympic Stadium, on the occasion of the first day of group B of the A league in the League of Nations women’s version of the CONCACAF, qualifying competition for the first edition of the Gold Cup in 2024.

With this win, the first for the debut of new coach Frédéric Gonçalves, Haiti takes the lead of the group before their next two outings against St Kitts & Nevis on 26 away and October 30 at home.

The Grenadiers must clear the gap in these two games before they travel to San Jose on November 30 for a potentially decisive return match against Costa Rica.

Remember that if Haiti finishes first in its group, it will go directly to the Women’s Gold Cup, which will take place from February 20 to March 10, 2024, in the United States.

Additionally, Nérilia Mondésir has scored four goals so far for the Haitian women’s selection in 2023. She scored these goals against Costa Rica, South Korea, Malte and Senegal.
