In observance of International Literacy Day, the Sint Maarten Police Force (KPSM) collaborated with the Sint Maarten Library to promote literacy in the community.
As part of this initiative, dedicated officers from KPSM had the privilege of reading to several students of the Seven-day Adventist school in Cole Bay on Friday morning, September 8th 2023.
International Literacy Day is an occasion to celebrate the importance of literacy as a fundamental human right and a foundation for lifelong learning and personal development.
KPSM extended its appreciation to the Seven-day Adventist school for their commitment to promoting literacy among its students. Their dedication to fostering a love for reading is instrumental in shaping the future of our island.
Furthermore, the department expressed its gratitude to the Sint Maarten Library for being their valued partner in this crucial endeavour. The library has consistently demonstrated its dedication to promoting literacy.
KPSM also appreciated all the officers who took time out to read to the students of this primary school. ”Your dedication to this cause is truly commendable, and your efforts will have a lasting impact on the young minds you engaged with,” said the department.
