She scored her 4th T20 hundred, defeating mighty Aussies women by seven wickets and one ball remaining to play. West Indies women yesterday successfully chased the mountainous target of 213 and made a record by completing the highest chase in the history of Women’s T20 cricket.

During the match, West Indies won the toss and chose to bowl first. Ellyse Perry, the Aussies star player, scored 70 runs in 46 balls hitting 5 fours and 4 sixes. She was the top scorer from Australian side.

Phoebe Litchfield, the 20-year-old, dominated Windies women by hitting 52 in 19 balls. Her explosive, unbeaten innings involved 3 fours and 5 sixes. She also equalled the record of New Zealand’s Sophie Devine for the fastest fifty in women’s T20.

Collectively, Australian women scored a mighty target of 212 in first innings by losing six wickets. The Windies captain and all-rounder significantly contributed with the ball, too. She dismissed three Australian women in her bowling spell, giving only 36 runs.

With a strike rate 206.25, Matthews hit twenty-five boundaries, including 5 sixes and 20 fours. During the chase, the WI women’s captain completed her 2000 runs in International cricket, becoming the third Windies woman to achieve this milestone after Deandra Dottin and Stafanie Taylor.
