T&T: Shiggy & Jem grabs ‘Player of the Season’ award at TTPFL 2023 Award Ceremony

Port of Spain: The Trinidad and Tobago Premier Football League 2023 Awards took place on Friday night. Players from Tier 1 and Tier 2 were honoured for their excellent performances throughout the inaugural season.

TTPFL’s CEO Colin Wharfe and TTFA’s Normalization Committee Chairman Robert Hadad address the audience at the TTPFL’s 2023 Awards Ceremony. 

In tier 1, Defence Force’s Justin ‘Shiggy’ Garcia was named Player of the Season and Defender of the Season.

In tier 2, FC Phoenix’s Mickaeel Jem Gordon picked up a number of awards; they are Player of the Season, Best Forward, and the Golden Boot.

On the same day, the Trinidad football legend Dwight Yorke turned 52. The Trinidadian coach and football player. During his football days, he played 573 matches and scored 181 goals.

Yorke played for some of the biggest clubs in Football history, including English clubs Manchester United and Aston Villa. He won 2 EFL Cups, 1 UCL, three Premier League titles and 1 FA Cup during his tenure in English football. 

The biggest club in England, Manchester United, also wishes its legend a Happy Birthday on November 3, 2023. Among his 181 goals, Yorke scored the most (32) playing as a forward for the English Club (Manchester United).
