David Bennett- first recipient of pig to human heart transplant; dies

In the United States, the first-ever pig heart transplant has been failed after a maximum of two months, the death of the Maryland man was declared on Wednesday by the surgeons.

As per the details shared by the sources, he was the first person who got the surgery has died, and this was one of the groundbreaking experiments.

Along with this, on Tuesday, the 57-year-old named David Bennett was admitted to the University of Maryland Medical Center. The main reason for the death is not yet identified, but the doctors mentioned that he was suffering several days before he died.

Moreover, the son of the 57-year-old man has appreciated the health care center for the attempt of the experiment and further said the family is hoping that such experiments will end the shortage of body organs.

David Bennett Jr. mentioned in a statement that has been released by the University of Maryland School of Medicine, “We are grateful for every innovative moment, every crazy dream, every sleepless night that went into this historic effort. We hope this story can be the beginning of hope and not the end.”

According to the officials, the doctors have been working on this attempt of using an animal organ in a human for over a decade and has sought by using on in the human body. A handyman from Hagerstown, Maryland, Bennett was the only person who agreed to the operation because he might have died because of the other issues.

On the other hand, all of the people were ineligible for the heart transplant, bedridden, and on life support and was out of the alternatives.

However, on January 7, after the surgery, the son of Bennett shared the information during a press gathering, his father has no assurance if he would live or die.
