Omicron sub-variant to account for over half of COVID cases in US: CDC

The new variant of the COVID-19 Omicron was expected to account for more than half of the coronavirus variations circulating in the United States, according to the report shared by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control & Prevention (CDC).

On Tuesday, March 28, the increase in the COVID-19 infection in parts of Asia as well as Europe has raised the issue that another wave could be observed in the United States of America.

Moreover, despite the increase in the highly contagious sub-variant of the COVID-19 Omicron, the health specialists in the USA believed that the latest wave of the infections appears to be unlikely as the entire case of the disease are decreasing from the month of January, which the record was noticed as the highest.

Along with this, on Saturday, the average number of cases of people getting infected by the COVID-19 infection was reported as 27,895, which has been increased by 4 percent compared to the previous week.

In the previous week, Dr. Anthony Fauci, the prominent U.S. infectious disease official has mentioned that he does not look for an increase in the cases of the infection. He would not be shocked after observing the rise in the cases.

The majority of the individuals in America are now believed to be in the lower COVID-19 transmission, as per the new CDC guidelines released last month, which prioritized hospital capacity above case counts. Hospital capacity is more important than case counts.

Furthermore, the CDC has made the estimation that the sub-variant of COVID-19 has been reached up to 39 percent, which has been considered from 34.9 percent, according to a CDC methodology that calculates circulating variant proportions.
