Pennsylvania girl, 3, falls to death into north Carolina waterfall

In Pennsylvania, a 3-year-old girl has fallen over a 411-foot waterfall in North Carolina and died while she was playing in the sand, according to her family.

As per the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, Nevaeh Jade Newswanger of Denver, Pennsylvania, was visiting Whitewater Falls with her family member on Sunday, April 10. She has swept away and fell below the fall.

The emergency crew has replied to a call about the girl at 5:50 p.m. as well as has recovered her body at around 1 a.m. on Monday, says the officials.

According to the sources, the family of Nevaeh had been living in Oconee County in South Carolina, where her dad works in construction, as well as made the decision to go on a walk on a trail that led the way to the river above the waterfall approximately 25 miles from their apartment.

Moreover, her parents named, Keith and Sheri, mentioned on the GoFundMe page, “We desperately attempted to rescue her, but the current was very much strong & it swept her down the river as well as over the falls where the angels caught her.”

They further added, “She is now our precious angel, so radiant in the presence of God. Her name is heaven, fall backwards. She was actually a piece of heaven to all who knew her.”

Along with this, the fundraising page has raised around $5,390 of its $25,000 goals as of Tuesday the afternoon, including a poignant photo of the smiling toddler, her sister Tania as well as their parents sitting on the grass.

As per the US Forest Service, the Whitewater Falls is the highest waterfall east of the Rockies.

Jackson County Sheriff Chip Hall mentioned in the statement at the time of the interview, “First & foremost, our wishes are with the Newswanger family as they grieve the loss of this precious young child.”
