Temperature in United States reaches 73 degrees, causes disruption

The temperature in the United States has reached 73 degrees on Sunday in Charlotte, and that came on the heels of more than 1 inch of welcome rain. Over the last five days, the high temperatures in Charlotte have been 69, 66, 68, 65 and 73. That’s well above the average high, which is near 60, and it’s a far cry from the cold weather people experienced before Thanksgiving.

There was a late-week chill, but it was primarily warm weather ahead.

A couple of days of cold weather are in the United States forecast this week, with highs on Thursday and Friday only reaching the lower 50s, but people will be in the 60s each day before that — and back into the 60s again next Saturday and Sunday.

The dominating weather feature overall is high pressure off the Southeast coast. This is the type of situation that brings warm winters to the Southeast, and while it eventually will break down at least temporarily — for the time being, all of the individuals are in for some mild conditions (except Thursday and Friday).

It looks like another quick shot of rain is coming Tuesday night and Wednesday morning, but conditions will be rain-free otherwise.

SUNDAY NIGHT: Clear, with a low of 46.

MONDAY: Sunny and mild for late November, with a high of 62.

MONDAY NIGHT: Clear. Low of 39.
