US Naval Academy shares information about Celeste Duran, member of USNA 22nd Company Spartans

United States Naval Academy shared the information on the First Friday as they are celebrating Native American Heritage Month, is the President of the Midshipman Native American Heritage Club, Midshipman 1st Class (senior) Celeste Duran. She is a member of the USNA 22nd Company Spartans and is from Santa Ana, California.

Duran is a computer engineering major and squad leader. In addition to her involvement with USNA Native American Heritage Club, Duran is a manager for Navy Women’s Swimming and Diving as well as a member of The Midshipman Action Group, Society of American Military Engineers, and USNA Lucky Bag.

She wanted to participate in the Naval Academy partly as a role model for her two younger siblings. Her family also serves as inspiration for her leadership style at the Academy: “The greatest impact you can have on someone can be as simple as being kind, as people never know what others have gone through.”

Her favourite memory while at USNA was spending time with her parents and brother, a cadet at the U.S. Air Force Academy, when Navy Football played Air Force this year. Duran tries to learn from everyone she meets and is inspired by the words of Socrates: “The only true wisdom is in knowing you know nothing.” She will commission as a surface warfare officer in May.

On the other hand, the tickets are on sale for the USNA Music Department’s 75th performance of Handel’s Messiah in the USNA Chapel. This will take place on Saturday and Sunday (December 3 and 4).

On Saturday, 3 December, 7:00 pm– The doors will open at 6:00 pm.

Sunday, 4 December, 3:00 pm– The doors will open at 2:00 pm

They have also shared the information in which they have mentioned that the reserved Seat Tickets vary by pew location $50, $40, $35, $30, and $25. The USNA shuttle will run for all Marine Corps Memorial Stadium performances.
