Carolina to witness chilly, cold weather, chances of high rainfall

United States: The Former Charlotte Observer weather writer Steve Lyttle shared the information on Carolina weather, a chilly and cold weekend ahead with a chances of rain a few times early this week.

Steve Lyttle took to his official social media account and highlighted in the statement, “We’re looking at plenty of changes in our weather during the final two weeks of the year. We’ll have chilly conditions and a small chance of rain a few times early this week, and then the big blast of frigid air will arrive for Christmas. After that, we’re looking at a warm up in the days leading to New Years.”

The word “snow” is pretty much eliminated from the forecast for the Carolina this week, except possibly/probably in the mountains on Friday and early Saturday. By the time it gets cold enough for snow on Friday morning, the precipitation will already be gone.

But for those of people who like a warm fire on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, the weather will deliver.

TODAY: We had a morning low of 25 degrees in Charlotte. For the rest of the day, we’ll have a mix of sun and clouds, with a high of 46.

TONIGHT: Mostly cloudy, with a low near 30.

TUESDAY: Plenty of clouds and chilly, with a high around 45. A weak storm system will cross northern Florida, and we might be close enough to get a light shower or two, from Charlotte southward, in the late afternoon.

TUESDAY NIGHT: Cloudy, with a light shower or two around in the evening. Low near freezing.

WEDNESDAY: A mix of sun and clouds and chilly, with a high near 45. Another weak storm system will pass nearby, and we could get a shower or two after 3 p.m.

WEDNESDAY NIGHT: Cloudy, with a low of 36. Off-and-on showers are likely after 10 or 11 p.m.

THURSDAY: Off-and-on showers should end by noon. Then remaining cloudy, with a high of 46. Rain will return by 11 p.m. or midnight and last overnight.

FRIDAY: Any showers should end by 9 a.m. Then clearing, breezy to windy, and turning colder. Temperatures will be in the low 40s in the morning, dropping into the 30s in the afternoon.

CHRISTMAS EVE: After a frigid start (lows in the upper teens), Christmas Eve will be sunny but very cold, with a high of 33.

CHRISTMAS DAY: It will be sunny and frigid, with a morning low in the mid teens and an afternoon high of 34.
