Carolinas: Weather to remain stormy, chances of showers and thunderstorms

United States: Weather writer Steve Lyttle shared the update on the weather in Carolinas on January 12, 2023, the weather is going to get stormy on Thursday, and then there is a colder weekend ahead.

The forecaster shared the information through their official social media account and highlighted it in the statement, “We’ve had a quiet and rather pleasant weather week so far, and it will continue today. But the changes will arrive Thursday. A strong low-pressure system, one of those systems that struck the California coast, will move eastward and drag a strong cold front with it.”

The front will cross the Charlotte region on Thursday evening, preceded by showers and thunderstorms. There are a few of those storms that could bring damaging wind gusts.

Behind the front, people will face more cold and windy conditions on Friday and Saturday, as well as while the wind will calm by Sunday, it will remain a bit on the chilly side of mid-January.

The cold weather of this weekend, the good news for North Carolinas’s ski resorts, will be able to make snow. In addition, some natural snow is likely to fall on Friday and Saturday. The Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday weekend is a biggie for North Carolina’s ski industry.
