Carolinas moving into second week of January, coldest month of year

United States: The Former Charlotte Observer weather writer Steve Lyttle gives updates on the weather of Carolinas, and people are moving into the second week of January, the coldest month of the year.

He took to his official social media and shared the information, highlighted in the statement, “We’re moving into the second week of January, and our 8-14 day outlook carries us into the second half of what is typically the coldest month of the year. But the computer models are telling us that there isn’t anything too crazy in our meteorological future in Carolinas.”

The coming week will bring some chilly days (like today), some days with near-average temperatures, and even a mild day perhaps (Wednesday). And looking ahead to the period of January, 15-21, the outlook is for above-average temperatures in the part of the world.

So unless something changes, it’s life as usual. Sometimes that’s good in Carolinas.

TODAY: Overcast and chilly, with a bit of light rain this morning and possibly again in the late afternoon. High of 49.

Tonight: There might be some light rain this evening. Then clouds will break by the early-morning hours, with a low of 40. Some fog is possible by daybreak.

MONDAY: Watch out for some areas of fog in the morning. Then we’ll break out into the sunshine, with a high of 54.

MONDAY NIGHT: A weak disturbance will pass to our north. We won’t get any precipitation, but it will become cloudy. Low of 34.

TUESDAY: Some clouds, some sun, and a high of 56.

TUESDAY NIGHT: Partly cloudy, with a low of 34.

WEDNESDAY: Sunshine, mixed with a few clouds, and mild. High of 58.

THURSDAY: Increasing clouds, with a high of 58. Showers will arrive by late evening and continue overnight.

FRIDAY: Clouds and a few showers in the morning, followed by a mix of sun and clouds by midday. High of 54.

SATURDAY: Sunny and chilly. High of 48.
