Carolinas to expect wet week ahead, predicts Weather writer Steve Lyttle

United States: Weather writer Steve Lyttle shared the weather forecast for Carolinas. They are in the middle of a zonal weather pattern, in which weather systems generally move west to east all over the nation. There is a relatively warm as well as a wet week ahead.

Steve Lyttle took to his official social media account and highlighted in the statement, “We’re in the midst of a zonal weather pattern, in which weather systems generally move west to east across the country. That’s especially true in the South, and it’s what you’d expect in a La Nina winter.”

Those west-to-east patterns in the winter tend to be relatively warm for the Southeast, as well as the forecast for the next week reflects all of that, mild to warm, with occasional encounters with storm systems.

The first such system will reach on Tuesday, although it will be rather a week. Steve Lyttle further stated and a stronger system will arrive on Thursday, and yet another rain-maker will appear on the horizon for the late next weekend.

1. No need for winter coats, except Monday morning. In fact, when the temperature climbs above freezing tomorrow, it will remain above freezing for a week at least.

2. No snow or ice in our forecast for at least a week.

3. If you have a wet spot in your yard, it’ll remain that way.

TONIGHT: Clear as well as cold, with a low of 29. By the way, we bottomed out at 24 degrees this morning — the coldest since the arctic outbreak around Christmas.

MLK HOLIDAY: Monday might start sunny, but it will cloud up during the day. High of 54.

MONDAY NIGHT: Cloudy and milder, with a low of 44. A shower or two could arrive after 4 or 5 a.m.

TUESDAY: Clouds, with a few showers around in the morning. A bit of sunshine is possible by mid to late afternoon. High of 56.

TUESDAY NIGHT: Remaining mostly cloudy, with a low of 46.

WEDNESDAY: A cold front that moves through the area Tuesday and stalls to our South will activate as a warm front and begin pushing through our area. That means a lot of clouds, and a mild high of 64.

THURSDAY: Cloudy, with off-and-on showers. The showers will end by 9 or 10 p.m., following by partial clearing overnight. Very mild, with a high near 65.

FRIDAY: Becoming sunny. High of 57.

SATURDAY: A mix of sun and clouds, with a high of 54. Showers are possible at night.

SUNDAY: Cloudy, with several showers around. High of 54.
