Jammu and Kashmir to become first digital government of India, announces officials

India, Jammu and Kashmir: The government of Jammu and Kashmir is rising as a digital government model all over the world, with the main centre of interest on an accountable and transparent governance system.

This takes place as the government of J&K seeks to establish a system which allows people to access high-quality service anywhere, anytime, as well as on any device.

As per the information shared by Asian News International (ANI), the major focus of the system is bringing transparency and accountability to the system of government.

The government made the announcement on January 3, 2023, and released an official statement, which highlighted the Information Technology interventions as well as various initiatives related to digital are leading to transparency in the system. Also, streamlining the public service delivery system for the welfare of the common masses.

The statement highlighted that Jammu and Kashmir had achieved various milestones with a robust technical architecture at the service of the people of J&K with fast development as the new specification of the Union territory.

Along with this, the official statement outlined that the prime focus of the government is line to online. After the adoption of such policies, rather than travelling to Government offices, people are just required to use the digital mode of availing different services of government.

The Union Territory has successfully provided about 444 services online, which also includes all of the primary services which are generally availed by the public.

The government is working in full swing to usher Jammu and Kashmir into an environment where its people avail any service without getting into any inconvenience by physically visiting to any of the government offices.

During a recently held meeting, Arun Kumar Mehta, the Chief Secretary, maintained administration without any physical contact to make not only sure accountability and transparency but also swiftness.

He witnessed that technology occurs to be a panacea for all the evils, as well as Jammu and Kashmir envisages using the IT/ITes for optimum empowerment of its residents according to the vision of the LG administration.

The statement further asserted that by noting the 411 online services have been provided by the Planning Department in addition to 33 services integrated into Rapid Assessment System (RAS).

Additionally, out of these 441, about 195 online services had already been merged with the feedback system as well as some 102 more services will be made RAS complaints shortly.

However, synchronization with auto-appeal for the few department’s services has developed confident results, with 99 percent of applications despised within the stipulated time frame, according to the Public Services Guarantee Act (PSGA), which not only makes sure of timely delivery of services but penalizes those officials or officers who will not be able to do so.
