Hijab now mandatory for PoK female students and teachers

Islamabad: The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI)-led government, in its latest rule, has made it mandatory to wear a Hijab for female students, as well as teachers at the co-educational institutions in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir(PoK).

The PoK government’s circular warned that if the instructions were violated, disciplinary proceedings should be initiated “against the heads of the institutions concerned.

Previously it was not compulsory for female students or teachers to wear Hijab in any institution or other educational institute. As per their new guidelines now, it would now be mandatory to wear a hijab, it stated.

The decision of the Pak government has created a spark among residents, and people have already started comparing it with Afghanistan Taliban, under which girl education is banned.

As per the reports, the education department of an institute has asked the administration of all schools and colleges to ensure that this rule is implemented immediately. Whoever tries to violate this rule will face strict action against him/her.

As the PoK Education Minister Dewan Ali Khan Chughtai stated, “we took this decision based on our religion and the moral values of our society.”

He also said, wearing Hijab is not a crime, it’s a sign to your Allah and Holy Prophet (peace be upon him).”

Moreover, many people are claiming that Pakistan is trying to follow Afghanistan’s (Taliban) track as they also made compulsion wearing hijabs for women and students, and later on, they banned girl education.

According to Wajih Abbasi’s tweet, “Pakistan Taliban govt in AJK makes Hijab compulsory in the state. Soon PTI( Pakistan Taliban) will impose the same restrictions on women and girls as their ideological brothers have done in Afghanistan.”

Muslims say Hijab is a Choice, but they impose it and force it on women! PTI and Imran Khan’s gift to the nation and especially the women of the country on the occasion of International Women’s Day. Hijab has been made compulsory in PTI-ruled AJK, said an enraged local resident.
