The Prime Minister of Jamaica, Andrew Holness, held a meeting with the Jamaicans residing in the US during his recent visit to the Washington D.C. During the meeting with the Jamaicans, PM Holness emphasised on how they are doing things in their adopted home nation of the US.
In the meeting, he has expressed pleasure after meeting with Jamaicans and also asked them to always hold Jamaica close to their heart and to always uphold their voice in the initiatives that are changing the lives in Jamaica.
It is to be noted that, among those who were present during the meeting were, Professor Donald Harris, Professor of Economics, Emeritus, Stanford University, the Governor-elect of Maryland Wes Moore, who is of Jamaican heritage and his wife Dawn Moore, daughters Peter and Lisa Williams, Judge Tanya Chuktan, Tina Byles Williams and her husband McCollough Williams, and Assistant Attorney General Kristen Clarke.
At the same time, PM Holness has also extended thanks to the Ambassador Marks for calling the group of these wonderful people for a meeting and greeting. He further extended thanks for the work she has been doing to in advancing the mission of Jamaica via meaningful partnerships.
In addition, PM Holness also held a meeting with the new rising star in the US Politics, Wes Moore, the Governor-elect for the state of Maryland and his wonderful and talented wife, Dawn.
It is to be noted that Prime Minister Holness further mentioned that Wes had had a very distinguished career; an investment banker, author, and television producer, he has become the first black person to be elected to the governorship of Maryland and only the third black person to be an elected governor in US history! What an accomplishment.
“I extend hearty congratulations again to Wes, who exudes tremendous humility and graciousness,” PM Holness stated.
