U.S. Embassy Dili, Timor-Leste congratulates Academy for Women Entrepreneurs graduates

Timor-Leste: U.S. Embassy Dili, Timor-Leste, shared an update and highlighted the Women Entrepreneurs program and congratulated Academy for Women Entrepreneurs graduates on Monday, 20 March 2023.

As per the update, U.S. Charged Affaires Tom Daley and the Vice President of the Chamber of Commerce, Herguilina Alves, closed the Academy for Women Entrepreneurs program. 

Through the Women Entrepreneurs program, Forty-five Timorese women were supported in sharpening their entrepreneurial skills for business plans, and developing the business plans in a definite manner and winning seed funding to grow their businesses.

In addition to this, Three women entrepreneurs were also awarded seed funding after winning a pitch competition to grow their businesses.

U.S. Charged Affaires Daley further provided brief information regarding the women entrepreneurs program and quoted, “This program enabled the budding entrepreneurs to develop their ideas and support each other in a safe space for personal growth.” 

He also extended that the United States is committed to support the Timorese women and helping the women for taking their economic futures into their own hands to lead businesses.

 Although, This initiative will improve people’s lives and will expand the economic prosperity of the Timorese people.

The United States has proudly supported the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Timor-Leste (CCI-TL) in implementing this second edition of the Academy for Women Entrepreneurs by establishing a business hub.

Furthermore, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Timor-Leste (CCI-TL) hosted the first edition of the Academy for Women Entrepreneurs.

In the first edition of the Academy for Women Entrepreneurs, thirty women graduates were present in the program hosted by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Timor-Leste (CCI-TL).

In regard to this, U.S. Embassy in Dili, Timor-Leste, through the update provided on their official Facebook account and extended, “Good luck to all graduates.”
