Piarco International Airport bags top spot in Caribbean third year in a row

Trinidad and Tobago: The Piarco International Airport, Trinidad and Tobago, has received the title of the best Airport in the Caribbean by the international air transport rating organisation Skytrax. The announcement was made during the World Airport Awards on Wednesday, March 15. The authorities considered the International Airport the “best” for the third consecutive year.

The Airport is one of the highest rated the in the wider Central America and Caribbean region. It stands tall at the third position, behind only Panama’s Tocumen International and Costa Rica’s San Jose International, who both occupy the first and second places in the ranking, respectively.

The announcement of the third consecutive victory of the Piarco International Airport was received well by the Airports Authority of Trinidad and Tobago, who expressed their pride in the achievement of their Airport. The General Manager of the Authority, Hayden Newton, expressed his pride at the news, giving the credit for this win to the employees and workers who work diligently to ensure that the Airport can remain at the highest standards of security and safety.

Further, he also commended the commitment and diligence of the staff for maintaining the standards of the Airport such that they can remain on top of their game when it comes to operational efficiency and service excellence. The General Manager of the Airport Authority of Trinidad and Tobago, is currently in Amsterdam, attending the global conference as a representative of Trinidad and Tobago.

Several social media users also shared their excitement for the Piarco International Airport retaining their position of the best for three years. They gave the credit for this achievement to the 5th Prime Minister of Trinidad and Tobago, Basdeo Panday for envisioning the airport and working on making the place among the best in the Caribbean.
