Groups supportive of the Khalistan movement have repeatedly engaged in violent demonstrations outside the Indian High Commission in London. On February 18th, such supporters were heard chanting both Pro-Khalistani and anti-India slogans outside the commission.

Vishnu Vardhan Reddy, the former president of Andhra Pradesh’s Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM), took to Twitter to criticize the Pro-Khalistani group. He stated that these individuals were raising slogans against India and Prime Minister Modi outside the Indian High Commission in London. Reddy also expressed his belief that the group was living in a fantasy world, thinking that such protests would benefit them. Instead, he believed that they were only causing harm to themselves.

These Anti-India slogans by Khalistanis came after a Hindu temple was targeted in Canada by some Khalistanis elements.

Meanwhile, in an interview in Delhi, Cleverly said, “We want to grow more connections with Indians, and we want to strengthen our ties with Indians in the coming future.”

He also said India’s G20 presidency will be exciting and see more fantastic opportunities, which will be a great opportunity for a sustainable economic agenda and green agenda.

He further mentioned that he would be meeting with India’s trade secretary to ensure that the agreement is mutually beneficial and unlocks billions of pounds worth of bilateral trade.

In the meeting, they also raised the BBC issue with the Indian external Minister, S Jaishankar. He said, “BBC is an independent organisation and was separate from the UK government.”

When questioned about the BBC documentary on Prime Minister Narendra Modi, James Cleverly responded by saying that “he had not seen the documentary himself, but had witnessed the reactions to it in both the UK and India. He went on to clarify that the BBC is an independent organization separate from the government. Additionally, he mentioned that he shares a strong personal relationship with Dr Jaishankar and believes that the relationship between the UK and India is strengthening with each passing day.
