The Biden government has declared that they have doubled the order quantity of Pfizer vaccine that will arrive in the United States.
According to the government officials, By the end of January, the White House has demanded 4 million Pfizer Inc’s antiviral treatment for the COVID-19. Meanwhile, they want 10 million vaccines by June, and the remaining must be delivered within the coming months. For the 10 million pills of Pfizer, the U.S. government is going to pay $5.29 billion. The country is getting forward to working on the treatments for the infection and tackling its further spread.
While taking onto Twitter, the White House stated, “In the next few months, the vaccination will get delivered, and the deaths of the people and hospitalization have been reduced.”
After getting affected by the COVID-19, Pfizer’s drug is called Paxlovid, and it is meant to be taken for almost five days after the person shows symptoms. It was approved last month for people around the age of 12 and older.
On Wednesday, the U.S. has approved Pfizer’s antiviral COVID-19 pills for people aged 12 and older at the risk of severe disease, making it the first oral and at-home remedy and a new tool against the rapidly-spreading Omcron-new variant of COVID-19.
As per the reports, the patients suffering from this severe disease and the majority of people getting hospitalized have been reduced by 89%. The U.S. authorities have made the availability of COVID-19 treatment double as they first ordered 10 million, and now it has been 20 million. The delivery of the pills has been speed-up as the condition is already devastating.
The President of the United States said, “The vaccination requirement is more, that is just an estimate we require. Moreover, it will be a game-changer, resulting in a significant fall in hospitalization and deaths. ”
On Tuesday, after a meeting with the White House COVID-19 response team, President Biden stated on Pfizer vaccine, treating patients who have been infected with corona virus, as the new variant Omicron has caused the pandemics highest castrates.
