Omicron cases fastly surpassing previous variants of COVID-19: Experts

The Omicron virus is growing expeditiously over in the United States. It is highly transmissible throughout the nation, due to which the reports of the Omicron in the hospitals among the patients have surpassed the other variants of the COVID-19.

As per the estimates from several facilities around the nation, hospitals are prepared for a continuous spike in Covid-related bed requirements for the month ahead.

At Yale-New Haven Hospital in Connecticut, Robert Fogerty, who looks for the hospital capacity management of the 1541 beds, said, “In April 2020, there was 451 record of the COVID-19 patients and it highest in number. Moreover, the cases are going to soar more in the coming next week.”

The Omicron infected people are less likely to visit the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and in the area where the rates of the vaccination are high, said by Mr Fogerty and the other medical experts from other hospitals.

Furthermore, as people are getting admitted to the hospital, the demands of the beds are increasing. To reduce the COVID infected people in the hospital, protective steps should be mandatory, such as encouraging people to get the booster jabs and wearing facial marks. Although, the Omicron symptoms are milder compared to the previous ones.

The disease specialist in the Harvard Medical School, Jacob Lemieux, “This winter is going to be a tough time, and the maximum phase appears to be like it’s already about to unfold in the next two weeks. So if people can hunker down to the possible limit, it would be a contribution to society.”

Apart from this, according to the sources, the Omicron cases are getting lowered, but in the United States, the rate of infected patients is rising, which is still a huge question.
