Washington to remove wearing mandatory mask protocol

On February 28 Monday, the governor of Washington, Jay Inslee has, made the declaration that the state is relaxing the indoor mask mandate on March 12. As per the information provided by the authorities, it was first decided to end the compulsory masks measure on March 21.

The requirement of the facial masks will end at 11:59 p.m. on March 11 as well as come as a result of the new guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), which was released in the previous week.

Moreover, on March 11, king county has made the declaration that it would also be ending its facial mask mandate at 11:59 p.m.

Inslee mentioned in a report, “We have continued to monitor data from our state Department of Health (DOH) and have determined we can adjust the timing of our statewide mask need. While this highlights another step forward for Washingtonians, we must still be mindful that many within our communities remain vulnerable. Many businesses and families will continue choosing to wear masks because we have learned how effective they are at keeping one another safe. As we change to this next phase, we will continue to move forward together carefully and cautiously.”

On Friday, the CDC shared an update related to the guidance of facial masks, and they have stated that only counties that have high transmission levels should constantly wear a facial mask in the majority of the places.

As per the information provided by the CDC, all of the nine counties in Washington fall into this category.

In the last time, the CDC had advised masks to be worn in all of the communities despite the transmission levels.

Along with this, Health leaders from Washington, Oregon and California has had a word related to the guidance over the weekend and has new data.

On the other hand, California is relaxing the mandatory mask on March 1, and Oregon and Washington will do the same on March 12.
