On Monday, Philipp Ackermann, the German Ambassador to India, expressed that the G20 conference held during the Indian presidency was exceptionally well-coordinated and that all attendees were content with the proceedings.

According to Philipp Ackermann, the German Ambassador to India, organizing the G20 conference under current circumstances was challenging. However, he commended the Indian side for handling it masterfully and creating a fantastic setup despite the circumstances. He mentioned that everyone who attended the conference was satisfied with the context, and his minister also had some productive bilateral discussions. Ackermann expressed regret that the geopolitical situation overshadowed other aspects of the G20 conference.

Regarding the G20, it is unfortunate that the Russians and the Chinese prevented the issuance of a communique because they no longer agreed with the Bali language they had previously accepted. Philipp Ackermann expressed disappointment over this development because he believed that the Indian chair presented an intriguing draft, which they had negotiated for a considerable time.

The German Ambassador expressed regret that, similar to what happened in Bangalore, the Russians and the Chinese had made it impossible to issue a communique. He further mentioned that it was evident that the geopolitical situation was dominating and taking precedence over all other matters at the G20 conference.

Philipp Ackermann said he paid close attention to what people said about the G20 conference. He was pleased that other significant topics, such as food security, poverty reduction, and climate change, were also included on the agenda. He admired the Indian chair for successfully conducting a compelling conference despite the challenging circumstances. Ackermann expressed his gratitude and appreciated the efforts of everyone involved in organizing the conference, particularly in all the groups.

According to Philipp Ackermann, the Raisina Dialogue, held in Delhi from March 2-4, was a significant event. He mentioned that several German parliamentarians attended the event, and based on their feedback, he gathered that it was a tremendous success.

Ackermann commended the Indian side and their protocol for doing an outstanding job during the G20 conference and the German Chancellor’s visit. He expressed his appreciation by saying, “kudos to the Indian side, kudos to Indian protocol.” Ackermann also acknowledged that the Indians had a very busy week due to these events.

Philipp Ackermann acknowledged that the Indian side had an extremely busy week, ten times more hectic than their own. He emphasized that the Indian side did an exceptional job on every level and wanted to clarify it. He also mentioned that the Chancellor’s visit was excellent, and they were highly satisfied. The Chancellor left India with positive feelings and impressions after spending a day in Delhi and another day in Bangalore. The purpose of the visit was entirely fulfilled. Ackermann further added that the Prime Minister was an expected gracious host.

According to Philipp Ackermann, there is a definite commitment from German businesses to invest more in India. He expressed his confidence that there would be a lot of engagement from the German side in the coming weeks and months.
