Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis and the leader of St Kitts and Nevis Labour Party (SKNLP) Dr Terrance Drew sincerely expressed his true condolences towards the Late William “Willy” Dore’s family and their loved ones through his official Facebook account on Friday, 3rd March 2023.
As per the update, Dr Terrance Drew also addressed William “Willy” Dore as “Comrade”, highlighting the short timeline of the life story of William Dore, and stated that people affectionately knew William Dore as “Willy”, who was born in 1925 in Nevis. In the 1950s, he moved to St Kitts and became a powerful educator at the Basseterre Boys School.
Additionally, Willy Dore introduced the college of preceptors’ examination and urged the government to spearhead the campaign to increase academic empowerment in St Kitts and Nevis. Dore has a great love for collecting a large number of books on numerous fields of study. In 1971 he was named Labour Commissioner.
Furthermore, in 1971, Willy was later appointed as Labour Commissioner and was represented as the Director of the National Agricultural Corporation St Kitts-Nevis in 1976 and took great pride in being the eldest member of the Rotary Club of St Kitts. Mr Dore also took part in elections on the St Kitts-Nevis Labour Party admission in 1981 but failed.
In addition, Dr Terrance Drew also described Mr Dore as a true patriot, an activist, a historian with an outstanding educator and a man with a great passion for learning. PM Drew also expressed that Willy was very quick-witted and sharp-minded with good deeds and loved his country and always volunteered in regard to serve his people in a good manner, and always tried to hear their perspectives and problems.
In conclusion, Prime Minister Terrance Drew concluded and addressed that William Dore as Uncle Willy will be deeply missed, and his soul may rest in eternal peace.
