Dominica seals victory in their first match of CONCACAF Nations League by defeating Turks and Caicos Island by 3-0. The game was played at TCIFA National Academy located in Venetian Road Settlement, Turks and Caicos Islands.
Dominica’s CONCACAF Nations League 2023 campaign begins with an away victory, dominating the home team by scoring three goals. Troy Jules Mone, the Dominican attacker, scored their first goal in the eighteenth minute, putting his team ahead by (1-0).
The Number 10 beautifully controlled the long pass and singlehandedly made a run inside the box, surpassing three Turks and Caicos’ defenders. With a powerful shot, Thomas sent the ball straight into nets.
The Dominicans maintained good ball possession and created several chances to score. After the half-time whistle, they headed to dressing rooms with a 1-0 lead.
The Dominicans returned to the pitch with the same energy and confidence after the half break and kept playing defensive football, passing the ball to each other, looking for the gap to score another goal.
Troy Jules Mone scored another astonishing goal, completing his brace and doubling the lead. Cheston Prosper, the midfielder, delivered a beautiful pass to number 10; later, he shot the ball into the net from a distance.
Bruel Thomas, the 28-year-old midfielder, scored the third goal in extra time. Another defending error resulted in another goal for Dominica. He perfectly seized the opportunity, taking the ball inside the box, performing dribbles and a spectacular finish.
Thomas scored the third goal in the second minute of 4-minute extra time (90+2). Dominica won their first CONCACAF Nations League match by 3-0. The Parrots are leading on Group-C point table, followed by the British Virgin Islands, who also defeated Turks and Caicos by 3-1 on September 10, 2023.
